CREATING TEXTURES HAS NEVER BEEN EASIER

BEGINNER-FRIENDLY

Derive is built in a way that allows you to get started right away. Having a very flat learning curve, it is not only easy to use for beginners and pros alike, it is also tons of fun to work with.

STANDARDIZED OUTPUT

Derive can output five maps in formats that are used in most 3D-Application, meaning that while Derive itself is a Unity3D extension, it’s output can be used in any other software that uses normal maps, heightmaps, as well as maps for ambient occlusion and specularity.

CREATE REALISM

The most powerful tools at your fingertips enable you to create pure realism from nothing. Derive can use, but requires no photography. All textures, every type of surface can be created from scratch. The only limitation is your imagination.

WHAT MAKES DERIVE SO EASY TO USE?

The same that makes node editors so popular these days. It is extremely easy to keep track of your work and your progress. Every node represents an operation, the entirety of which outputs your final result. The live preview allows your to look at the final result with proper lighting before you output export anything. There is no easier way to keep track of your workflow and having fun while doing so.

ACCURATE LIVE PREVIEW

Why only see the textures in the preview. Derive lets you put the maps on objects of your choice and renders them in proper lighting, so you can decide if the textures will end up showing what you want to see. For this Derive’s preview gives you a number of lighting and rendering options.

Apart from that you can choose what shader to use for the preview rendering. Derive come’s with a Tessellation shader, a POM shader and a mobile friendly Blinn-Phong shader, but all of Derive’s outputs will also render correctly with Unity’s Standard shader and custom-made shaders.
